# Memberships

Sell a membership: members-only posts, messages with you and your own page, on a monthly or yearly plan, flat 3% per payment.

A membership turns your audience into a paid community. Members subscribe to a plan, and everything lives on your page: your posts, your messages with them, your products and your challenges.

![Membership plans on a Lid creator page: a yearly plan at $90.00 a year and a monthly plan at $9.00 a month, each with a Sign in to subscribe button.](https://1004546140-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FQKVT6WDKWT4P06WmWa57%2Fuploads%2FbKQIPiV4sC2L67AJTmSB%2Flid-membership-desktop-2026-10-15.png?alt=media)

## What's inside a membership

* **Posts.** Write for everyone, or only for your members.
* **Messages.** Your members can message you directly.
* **Your page.** A cover, your accent color, an About, up to 12 links, your products and the products you share. Lock any section so only members see it.
* **Plans.** Monthly or yearly, each with its own price and its own commission for sharers.
* **Gift access.** Give anyone a free seat or a month of access. It never touches billing.

## How it works

1. Open **Memberships** in your [dashboard](https://lid.pro/dashboard) and create a plan.
2. Choose monthly or yearly and set the price.
3. Share your link. Members subscribe and get access right away.

Billing is a recurring subscription. The flat 3% applies to each payment, the same as any sale, and your share lands in your balance in digital dollars (USDC) in seconds.

## Sharing works here too

Every plan carries its own commission, so anyone can share your membership. Whoever brings a member earns the commission you set.

## FAQ

<details>

<summary>Can members cancel?</summary>

Yes, anytime, from your page or from **My purchases → Subscriptions**. They keep access until the period they already paid ends.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What does it cost me to run one?</summary>

$0 a month to sell. The flat 3% on each member payment is the whole fee.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.lid.pro/sell-on-lid/memberships.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
