# Share and earn

Get your link from any product page and share it where your audience already is. What counts as your sale, and where your commission waits for you.

Get your link from any product page and put it where your audience already is.

## Steps

1. Open a product page that offers a commission.
2. Click **Promote and earn**. Your personal link is created right away.
3. Copy the link and share it. Group chats, Instagram bio, X, YouTube descriptions, newsletters.
4. Add a line of context. Say what the product did for you or who it is for, then put the link at the end.
5. Open **Affiliates** in your dashboard to see every product you promote, with its clicks, sales and what you earned, and to copy your link again.

{% hint style="info" %}
Lid knows the sale came from your link, so your commission is locked in when the buyer pays.

## Common questions

<details>

<summary>Where can I share the link?</summary>

Anywhere a link works. Start with the places where people already trust you.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What if someone clicks my link and buys later?</summary>

The commission goes to the link the buyer checks out through. If that is your link, the sale counts for you.

</details>

<details>

<summary>When does the money arrive?</summary>

Your commission is assigned to you in the same transaction as the sale, in digital dollars (USDC), and only you can claim it. Withdraw it from **Earnings & analytics → Affiliates**, under **Affiliate commissions**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.lid.pro/earn-by-sharing/share-and-earn.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
